We filmed Ashlee and Barretts wedding on October 10, 2009. Their ceremony took place at Riverside Park United Methodist Church followed by the reception at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

This was our first wedding to ever film inside the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, also known as “Home of the Jacksonville Jaguars”. That was one the coolest experience for us as we are HUGE Jaguar fans!! We love that we were given full reign to be as creative as we could, with the trust of our Bride & Groom. This has to be a Photographers / Cinematographers dream wedding! From the flowers to the location to the couple… WOW, just beautiful. Ashlee & Barrett was such a great couple to work with. We really enjoyed every part of the wedding.

Ashlee just opened a boutique that allows brides access to prime vendors. From wedding gowns, to cakes, to flowers…everything on a bride-to-be’s list. Check it out here Luxe Wedding Lounge.

This was a beautiful Southern Style Wedding theme, where the ceremony was held outdoor at the Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park and the reception was held at The Retreat at Bradley’s Pond in Tallahassee, FL.

Team Collab (Eric & David) and I were excited to be filming one of our very own Florida Vendors, Bride Chelsey Boatwright (a Florida Wedding Photographer). Immediately upon arriving at the bride’s house, Eric was off flying with his steadicam (for exterior footages) and David to capture the final few hours of Ms. Boatwright before becoming “Mr. and Mrs.”

During the ceremony, it took my breath away when Janin saw his bride from across his pathway, standing at a distance, as she walked the aisle in the mist hot sun, sporting her long gorgeous white gown. In one breath, he says “WOW”.

I can’t forget the food! They were good ol’ Southern Soul food you can’t eat just one plate. I absolutely fell in love with the sweet potato fries! Call me a hermit, but I don’t think I’ve ever had fries like those before. I must’ve had at least 4-5 batches of sweet potato fries and 3 cups of delicious sweet tea. Yum! I can go on and on about food, but I’ll just leave it that.

We also had the pleasure in working alongside with renowned Photographer Jose Villa.

I received a phone call one day, from a fellow name Sal, who was on a hunt for a cinematographer. He was looking for something unique and out of the norm. His search began within the vicinities of New Jersey and New York with no luck. He and his fiance expressed their interest in my work and asked if I could come up to New Jersey to film their wedding. Are you kidding me? Film a wedding in New Jersey AND New York…I couldn’t wait to pack my bags!

Once we got there, we immediately felt at home. Not only were they hospitable, they were some of the most down-to-earth New Yorkers I’ve met. They gave me and my crew “full creative reign” over their wedding (singing ALLELUIA!!!). From concept to completion, it was all up to us. I wanted to jump for joy. There’s nothing more wonderful than giving a cinematographer full control of scope and creativity.

If you ever need advice on throwing a party, call on Sal and Carmela. Their wedding reception was more than a party, it literally felt like a club. The DJ really knew how to rock it. When the bride and groom were introduced, everybody ran to the dance floor and rocked out for a good hour and a half. Usually guests can’t wait until the wedding party’s introduced so the feast can begin. Forget about eating, lets just dance the night away!!

Carmela and Sal did not skimp out on details. From the venue to the flowers, the cakes, and the photographer Cory Callahan, everything about the wedding was exquisite! Big thanks to Cory for referring us to a very unique and unforgetable wedding.

Here at CollabCreation Films we are always looking for new and exciting ways to create innovative products and services especially when it comes to emulating film. Film has always been an obsession of mine. There’s something about the texture and feel of film that compares to no other.

We were hired to film a wedding in New York and decided to bring our little gadget which I call “the nifty fifty”. If you noticed on some wedding shots, Aranya, one of our CCF cinematographer; has been seen carrying this gadget around. She was constantly asked, whether the contraption was a camera or camcorder. It’s actually a camcorder that is fixed with a Depth of Field adapter. For more info about DOF adapters click on this link: DOF

I take the footage while Aranya captures and creates this old film strip feel video. If this is something that might interest you; let us know…it could be one of the most discussed piece of your wedding!!
